It's Getting Too Hot for Softball

We lost to stupid Team Tuttle again yesterday. Though we did string together a decent bottom of the sixth to make it a game. Raul Chiriboga had a big hit to bring in two of that inning's runs. David DaCosta had three hits. Those were pretty good. One of them brought home another run. But the key play of the game was probably me calling in the score to the Commish this morning. The transcript went a little something like this:
"Hey Jean. It's Alicia with the Bad News. We played Team Tuttle last night ... Well, or at least as much of Team Tuttle as showed up to play. They only had a couple of girls and a total of 8 players, so it was probably more of a scrimmage than an actual game. If you're still keeping track of regular-season standings, I'd mark this one as a forfeit. Or not. Whatever. The Bad News will be at the Coleman Oval again tonight at 6 p.m. for our season finale. "

Next game: The 2007 season comes to an end today, Wednesday, Aug. 1, with a 6 p.m. game at the Coleman Oval. Reminiscing over games gone by, and general merry-making, to follow. Somewhere. Stay until midnight, and officially ring in Co-Captain Korney's birthday.
